Laramie All-Star’s Rally To Beat Lander

The Laramie 9 and 10 year old all-star team will be playing for a championship. They downed Lander 13-3 Thursday afternoon at the Little League State Championship.

Though the final score may indicate a one-sided affair, it was not in the least. In fact, Lander held a 3-2 advantage in the middle of the 5th inning. The Gem City's All-Stars rallied for 11 runs in the 5th inning, sending 15 batters to the plate.

Garrett Dodd led off the inning with a double and later hit a grand slam. Dodd also homered in the third and finished with 6 RBI. George Yost picked up the win on the hill for Laramie going 1 2/3 innings.

Laramie had 7 hits and took advantage of 10 walks and 4 Lander errors.

Head coach Jerry Dodd told us after the game "They definitely started seeing the ball, Garrett hit a double, the home run, and started out the 5^th inning with another double.  They were patient at the plate and made the pitchers throw to us and we just took advantage of what we needed to.”

Lander will have a shot at a rematch, but first must get past Cody. That game is set for Friday at 4 p.m. The winner faces Laramie in the championship Saturday at 10 a.m.
