If you are an avid skiier who is disappointed that Snowy Range Ski Area is closed for the season, well, have no fear. The folks at Laramie Basecamp want to help you stay ready in the off season with Roller-skiing with a special event on Saturday May 19th.

Roller-skis are a sort of snow-less cross country skiing experience. Competitive cross country skiers use them to help continue their training in the off-season. Check out the video below for more info.

Rebecca Walsh, owner of newly opened Laramie Basecamp, says that they took some of the comments from the community about the idea of roller-skiing. "Many people didn't know how to roller ski, they didn't know where to go.. or who could train them," Walsh said, adding to the fact that Laramie Basecamp hopes to bring things to the skiing and outdoor community in Laramie that will help bring it closer together and better at their chosen sport.

Laramie Basecamp has been open for just over two weeks, and has plans to bring more events and workshops to the Laramie skiing community, as well as stocking the store with items that Rebecca and her staff know, love, and recommend. Check out their introduction to roller-skiing workshop on Saturday, May 19.
