Halloween is just around the corner, and the streets will soon be filled with children in costumes, politely knocking on doors and asking for candy. For parents that may not want to take the kids out on a school night, Laramie is offering a wide range of safe treat events to make sure that all Laramie area children have the opportunity to get candy.

Local traditions, such as Scaramie and UW's Safe Treat are back again this year, with a few additions. In addition to a number of downtown businesses offering candy, there will be haunted houses at Corthell and King and in the basement of the Laramie Civic Center. UW's Safe Treat will be spread across campus, taking place in the basement of Washakie Dining Center and spreading to Fraternity and Sorority Row.
