Laramie High School will be putting on its own version of the classic “Little Shop of Horrors,” beginning Thursday night, April 27 at the Laramie High School Auditorium.

Laramie High School Theatre Program Director Mike Hancey said students have been working on the show in different aspects since December.

“They have been rehearsing since January and working on backstage parts since December,” Hancey said.

Hancey said the show will feature live music, thanks to the school accompanist and current and former LHS students playing keyboard, guitar, bass and drums for the performance.

For the man-eating plant, Audrey II, Hancey said the theatre program received a puppet that has made the rounds through Wyoming schools.

“We received the plant from Torrington High School, who received it from another school and so on,” Hancey said. “It’s been passed around.”

Hancey said they were lucky enough to have a student interested in puppeteering who took charge of doing the repair work on the puppet.

“It needed some tender loving care,” Hancey said.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. The two consecutive shows on April 28 and 29th will also begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the general public are $7 and are $5 for students.

Tickets can be purchased at the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Box Office.
