Laramie High School basketball wraps up its regular season with a home doubleheader against Cheyenne South Friday night.

It’s not only the final regular season game, but it’s also the home finale, which means Senior Night, as well.

The girls’ varsity game is at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ varsity game at 7 p.m. The senior class for each Laramie team will be honored before their game.

The Laramie Lady Plainsmen (5-14, 0-5) are still in search of their first conference quadrant win this season. They lost last week’s games to No. 1 Cheyenne East and No. 5 Cheyenne Central by a combined seven points. They lost their first meeting at tonight’s opponent, Cheyenne South, 38-31, last month. The Bison scored the last 10 points of that game. Laramie played without senior Jennifer Aadland and sophomore DaiJane Giron, both are expected to play tonight.

The three seniors playing in their final home game are Aadland, Audrey Rivers, and Lauren Sylvestre.

Lady Plainsmen head coach Rod Tyson loves their effort.

“They’re definitely some of the hardest workers I’ve ever had, and they never quit, and I really like that about them. It’s going to be sad to see them go, but it’s their Senior Night, hopefully, they’ll come out and just put it all together, that’d be great.”

The Lady Plainsmen and the Bison tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Laramie Plainsmen are trying to stop a six-game losing skid ahead of post-season play that starts next Thursday.

Laramie (7-12, 1-4) hasn’t won a game since they beat the South Bison in Cheyenne last month, 70-55. Illness and injury have played a role in the struggles the Plainsmen have had recently.

LHS has a five-member senior class. Cordae Wynn, Brady Epler, Will Tyser, Shane Forry, and Hudda Herrera will be recognized prior to the game.

Plainsmen head coach Travis Brown is hoping they have lots of energy tonight.

“They’re a good group of kids. They work hard, and the underclassmen like ‘em. They try to give their energy, the best they can. I think for them it’s just been trying to stay healthy all season long.”

Laramie takes on Cheyenne South with game time set for 7 p.m.

KOWB (AM 1290) will broadcast the doubleheader. Join David Settle for live coverage starting at 5 p.m. You can listen on the radio, online, through the KOWB App or any Amazon Alexa-enabled device.
