Laramie Local Foods will be hosting their 9th annual Laramie Local Foods Gathering on Saturday, May 5th starting at 9 a.m. at Whiting High School.

The event will feature 12 workshops hosted that will cover topics in 3 categories: Local Food, Community, and Sustainability.

Individual workshop topics will include: creating and maintaining a sourdough starter, cheese making, and beneficial insects.

This will be the first Local Foods Gathering hosted by Laramie Local Foods' new Board of Directors, consisting of Rene Sollars, Rebecca Ashley, and Alison Doherty, all of whom took the reigns in the fall of 2017 after the retirement of former board members Sonya Moore, Suzanne Lewis, and Cole Ehmke. According to a press release, the new board is "eager to continue the work of he organization while bringing some new ideas to the table."

Sollars said of the event that "The Gathering has always been Laramie's premier gardening and sustainability workshop series. We are thrilled to carry on this great tradition and hope the public will enjoy the speakers and topics we've arranged for 2018."

Tickets for the event will be $20 at the door, but can be purchased in advance for $15 at Eventbrite.
