A 24-year-old Laramie man was killed in a fatal crash east of Laramie early Tuesday.

Tyler Barber was driving a 2009 Ford F-350 pickup eastbound on I-80 when, at 5:10 a.m., the truck drifted into the median near mile post 326 about 10 miles east of Laramie.

The truck was overcorrected and went into a slide. During that slide, the truck again left the roadway into the median, where it tripped and rolled.

Barber, who was not wearing his seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The Patrol is investigating driver inattention as a contributing factor in the crash.

Barber was the 91st person killed on Wyoming highways in 2016. The same time period in 2015 saw 115 highway deaths statewide.
