Laramie Plainsmen Host Defending Champion Mustangs [VIDEO]

The Laramie Plainsmen are back at home Friday night, as they take on the second-ranked Natrona County Mustangs at Deti Stadium.

Laramie (0-2) is in search of their first win, while NC has won its first two games.

This is one of the longest rivalries in the state. It dates back to 1909. The Mustangs have dominated this series recently, having won 9 straight games. The last Plainsmen victory was in Laramie in 2001. According to wyoming-football.com, in all 9, LHS has scored 12 or less points and been shut out three times.

Natrona has yet to surrender a defensive touchdown this season. The only score they've allowed was on a blocked field goal last week in their win over No. 4 Cheyenne East. The Mustangs allow only 224.5 yards per game.

Laramie has yet to surpass that total in offensive yards. The Plainsmen average 206.5 per game.

The 'voice of the Plainsmen,' David Settle, caught up with Laramie head coach Chuck Syverson. They talked about the difficulty of getting over last week's loss; plus the return of a key player; previewed the opposition; and how concerned coach is with the 0-2 start.
