Fresh off their first win of the season, the Laramie Plainsmen football team will head to Casper to face the second-ranked Natrona County Mustangs tonight.

Laramie is 1-1 and comes off a 15 point win over Rock Springs a week ago. Natrona is 2-0 and enters off a nice road win at Cheyenne East by a final score of 14-7.

The Plainsmen have had their hands full with the big four (Natrona, Gillette, East, Sheridan) of class 4-A. They've haven't posted a win over any of those teams since 2009. Laramie has also dropped eight straight in the series against the Mustangs.

Laramie head coach Chuck Syverson says his team wants to, "Kinda redeem themselves after our trip up to Sheridan (two weeks ago, L 49-6), so we're trying to show we belong in that first group. This is another opportunity for us to do that. We take care of our own business and do what is expected of the coaches and of the players; I think we have a chance to compete."

KOWB had a chance to visit more with coach Syverson about last week's victory, how the team prepared for Natrona and what the Mustangs will present in tonight's game.

The Laramie Plainsmen at the #2 Natrona County Mustangs football game will start at 7 p.m. from Cheney Alumni Field.
