Laramie Red Cross Opens Evacuation Center After Wind Wreaks Havoc, Causes Gas Leak
Update: The City of Laramie said people can return to their homes as of 11:15 p.m. Tuesday evening.
The Red Cross has opened an Evacuation Center at the Laramie Parks and Recreation Center in response to a gas leak that happened in the city earlier today.
Locals around Laramie reported large amounts of destruction to trees after a wind storm reaching 90 mph hit the city Tuesday night.
As of 8:23 p.m., approximately 2266 customers in Laramie are affected by 70 different power outages across the city, according to Rocky Mountain Power. Check their out map here for updates.
Some Laramie residents were asked to evacuate after a gas leak was reported. The Red Cross has opened an Evacuation Center at the Laramie Parks and Recreation Center in response.
Red Cross of Wyoming has opened an Evacuation Center in Laramie, in response to a request from the Albany County Emergency Management, due to a gas leak on Lyons St. The evacuation was ordered by the Laramie Fire Department and is affecting 20 – 50 homes.The Evacuation Center is located at the Laramie Parks and Recreation Center, 920 Boulder Dr.

As of 7 p.m., the police department announced they did not have an estimated time for restoration via their Facebook Page.
