Lauren Alaina – Lighting up Graceland

Well I know where Lauren Alaina will be at oh, say 5 PM (Mountain Time) tonight.  She'll be throwing the switch that will lturn on the holiday lights at Elvis Presley's Graceland in Memphis.

In honor of Elvis' famous Blue Suede Shoes, the majority of the display along the long driveway will be blue.  There are also plans for a full-sized Nativity scene and Jolly Ol' St. Nicholas and his sleigh.  There will also be many decorations that are from the Presley family heirloom collection. 

The staff will also be putting together family-oriented celebrations on the grounds of Presley's mansionn. 

The celebration and Lauren's initiating the lights will not be broadcast on any national TV networks.  However, in this age of the internet, interested fans can grab their keyboards or mouse (mice?  meese?) and see a live stream of the festivities on, (and I'm not making this up) Elvis.com.  Coverage isn't set to begin until 6 PM CST.  That's, 5 tonight our time.

Lauren is a Tennessee native, of course.  I'm sure that of all the many kudos she's received since American Idol, this one has to rank right up there with the most fun.
