And now for something completely different.  With all the hoopla (fully deserved) of the CMA's last night, there's not a lot of attention being paid to other music news.  For instance, The life and legacy of Linda McCartney was the subject of a concert in Nashville last Monday.  There were several country acts who came together to help find a cure for cancer.  As you know, Linda McCartney battled and lost to breast cancer in 1998.

Jeff Daniels hosted the event at the Ryman Auditorium.  Guest performers for the nigh included  Steel Magnolia, Phil Vassar, Chuck Wicks, SHeDAISY and Blue Sky Riders.

The CD of the event, Let Us In Nashville is a collection of country stars covering some of the most famous Beatles tunes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Women and Cancer Fund established in the memory of Linda McCartney and authorised by her widower, Sir Paul McCartney.

You can learn more about this very worthy cause here.  It's nice to see the kind of efforts coming from the entertainment world to make a real difference against a horrible diseases.  The more money that can be raised to lead to more and more research is a worthy cause in anyone's book.
