Luke Bryan will use his 2018 CMA Awards performance to spotlight some of country music's rising stars. According to a press release, Bryan will share the stage with a few country music up-and-comers on Wednesday night (Nov. 14).

Bryan and his unnamed special guests will be performing his recent single, "What Makes You Country." The song is the title track of Bryan's newest album, released in late 2017.

“When we began talking about this performance, I thought this would be a perfect time to share the stage with a few deserving artists who may not otherwise have an opportunity to be a part of the show,” Bryan says in a press release. “This genre is full of talented performers doing what makes them country, and this is the perfect song to let them step in the spotlight to be seen and heard by the millions tuning in.”

Bryan and company will be opening the 2018 CMA Awards broadcast with their performance. Although he has not revealed who will be playing with him, the Country Music Association shared on Friday (Nov. 9) that this year's awards show would special "special appearances" from Lindsay Ell, Chris Janson, Ashley McBryde, Jon Pardi, Cole Swindell and others.

The 2018 CMA Awards are scheduled to air on ABC on Nov. 14, at 8PM ET. The ceremony will take place live at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, and Paisley and Underwood will co-host for the 11th consecutive year.
