The 10th annual CMT on Tour will feature as its headlining act, Luke Bryan

The tour is reported to include some two dozen shows to support Luke's third studio album for his label Capitol Records Nashville.  The album is called Tailgates and Tanlines and is scheduled for store delivery in early August.

Joining Luke on the tour will be special guest Josh Thompson and Lee Brice.  The tour will offically kick off in September.

The highly succesful CMT on Tour launched over 8 years ago and has featured some power players in the field including Trace Adkins, Jason AldeanMiranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Keith Urban and more.

Luke is quoted on CMT's website as saying, "It's all about having fun onstage with the band and giving our fans a night of entertainment. I certainly am following in good footsteps of the other artists who have had the opportunity to headline a CMT tour. I'm really anxious to get started!"

As we reported earlier, Luke teamed up with The Doobie Brothers for a  CMT Crossroads episode set to premiere June 24.

It's a good time to be Luke Bryan.  I'm sure there will be a lot more honors coming his way.  Stay tuned.
