Officials have released the name of the man who was struck and killed by a train in Laramie last week. Douglas Carr, 54, has been named as the individual who died last Wednesday, June 11 when he was struck or ran over by a train about half a mile north of Curtis Street.

Officials at the Albany County Coroner’s Office say Carr did not have a known address, but his family is from Colorado.

Authorities received reports last Wednesday around 8:45 a.m. that an injured man was on the train track. They responded to the call and found Carr seriously injured. He was taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The reason Carr was near the tracks is still unknown, but the investigation by Union Pacific Railroad is still ongoing.
