A large street dance in the heart of downtown Laramie will once again welcome back University of Wyoming students and celebrate another year.

The annual Downtown Mash Up will take place on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 3 p.m. to midnight. The dance takes place on Grand Avenue between 1st and 2nd Streets.

The Mash Up is a kickoff to UW’s football season and a welcome back for students. The Mash Up starts at 3 p.m. with the downtown Farmers Market accompanied by free kids activities and a meet and greet with UW athletes.

Between 7 p.m. and midnight, participants will enjoy a performance from the UW marching band, experienced based activities sponsored by downtown businesses, a group yoga class lead by Infinite Balance, a photo booth, local food vendors and a street dance. A variety of live bands and a DJ will be on stage to keep the night young.

A special appearance from University of Wyoming alumni John Rotellini, Las Vegas magician/performer will be on hand for entertainment throughout the event.

Local brews from Altitude, Coal Creek TAP and the Library will be served until midnight.

New this year, there will be opportunities to participate in experienced based activities with retailers including: Dodd’s Shoe Co., the Alibi, Luna Salon and Spa, Nu2u, Sweet Pickles, Big Dipper Ice Cream, Double Dubs, the Curiosity Shoppe, Ben 10 and many more. Participants will have a chance to play games of chance to win downtown businesses merchandise, as well as other prizes and giveaways throughout the night.

The Downtown Mash Up is a fundraiser for the Laramie Main Street Alliance who strives to preserve historic downtown Laramie while enhancing its economic development and social vitality.
