An event at the ACRES Student Farm in Laramie will look at the microbiology of composting.

The event will takes place on Saturday, July 26 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the ACRES Student Farm on 30th and Harney. Participants will look at what happens in a compost pile and examine why some work and others don't.

UW Molecular Biology instruction, Rachel Watson, has done testing on smells and compost compositions that work best.

The event is free to the public.
