With all the brouhaha surrounding the on-then-off marriage of Kim Kardashian, a lot of people have been paying attention to other celebrity marriages.  Well, in country, the biggest marriage in a long time just took place when Miranda married Blake.  Now, CMT is out with Miranda's take on the whole marriage thing.

Major props to CMT's Alison Bonaguro for this interview and quotes.

So, it seems that Miranda had a strong marriage in her own life to use as and example.  Her mom and dad remain together to this day after decades of marriage.  And Miranda says that the concept of ending a marriage is just foreign to her and hers.

"Divorce is not an option. That's what my mom has always said. That's what I'm gonna take to my marriage," Miranda Lambert told Alison on Wednesday.  "It's so cool to have that example set for me my whole life. It's kind of clear that it [divorce] can't happen."

Later in the interview, the Kardashian marriage (such as it was) came up.  Miranda had some fairly straight-forward reactions to the multi-million dollar wedding that ended a little over two months later.  "I just kind of feel sorry for her in a way," Lambert said. "In another way, I don't. Because you get what asked for. Living that kind of a lifestyle, you know that you're gonna have backlash. I think that it's stressful enough to get married for regular peoplike Blake and I, and I can't imagine all that pressure on her."

Miranda also had a rather refreshing attitude about how the story has taken over the papers when there's so much more going on in the world that the country's press could be covering.  Although, I guess I'm contributing to the frenzy in my own tiny little way, myself.

The moral (if there is a moral) of the story is probably related to living in glass houses and throwing stones.  Getting divorced after such a huge build up to the ceremony, all the publicity and all the money spent is bad form, to be sure.  But let's not forget that divorce is something that takes a lot out of a person, no matter where they live, how much they have, or how famous they are.

I guess we'll just move on from here.  Hopefully there are better days ahead for all concerned.  I know that the recent release of Miranda's latest album is news that's much more enjoyable to report.
