This video is from the 2011 Miss America Pageant which took place on Saturday in Las Vegas.  For the talent portion Miss Arkansas, Alyse Eady, chose to sing a song.  And when I say she sang, I mean she sang and yodeled with her TWO ventriloquist dummies, who also sang and yodeled with her.

The song she chose was "I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart", which was written by Arkansas native Ruby Blevins who performed as Patsy Montana.  It was the first country song by a female artist to sell more than a million copies.

Miss Arkansas finished the night as first runner-up and received a $25,000 scholarship.

Miss America 2011 is Teresa Scanlan from Gering, Nebraska.  She is not only the first Miss Nebraska to win the crown, but also the youngest at 17.  Teresa recently graduated from Scottsbluff High School, and I have it on good authority from a friend who lives there that she is a great person and an excellent babysitter.  Something tells me she may not be available for a while.

Congratulations to two amazing women!
