A Moorcroft man was arrested on drug and traffic violations after leading law enforcement on a 25-mile, high-speed motorcycle chase on Interstate 90 on Sunday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

The chase began at 12:38 p.m. after a trooper attempted to stop Anthony Delfino for a registration violation just west of Moorcroft at mile post 150 on I-90, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.

Delfino, 23, did not stop and accelerated to 140 mph to try to elude the trooper.

Law enforcement ended the chase for safety reasons at 12:50 p.m. when Delfino entered Gillette city limits at exit 126.

Nineteen minutes later, law enforcement received a report that Delfino crashed at Echeta Road and Burma Avenue in Gillette. He was not being pursued by law enforcement officers. He crashed when he took a corner too fast and lost control. He was wearing a helmet.

Delfino left the scene.

Campbell County Sheriff's deputies found him on foot a couple of blocks from the crash scene. Delfino was treated on scene for minor injuries.

Troopers arrested him and booked him into the Campbell County Detention Center in Gillette.

Delfino was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, eluding, reckless driving, driving while under the influence, driving on a suspended driver's license, speeding and expired registration.

He also was booked in on a warrant out of Campbell County for failing to appear for previous charges of driving while suspended and speeding.

The Gillette Police Department assisted the Wyoming Highway Patrol during the incident.
