More Blasting Will Stop Traffic on Happy Jack Tuesday

Wyoming Department of Transportation officials are advising motorists planning a trip on Happy Jack Road between Cheyenne and Laramie the afternoon of Tuesday June 11th, to allow themselves a little more time to reach their destination.

WYDOT says at approximately 3 pm, Tuesday afternoon, Oftedal construction will stop traffic in both directions at milepost  23.8 for up to a half an hour.

Blasting operations will be conducted as part of the ongoing widen and overlay project, taking place on a stretch of roadway in the Curt Gowdy section of the highway.

This is the second such operation in the area in as many weeks.  During an interview with WYDOT resident engineer, Tim Morton, before last week's blasting, Morton said that the small blasts are part of a rock excavation effort, adjacent to the roadway.
