Dr. Laurie Nichols was on the University of Wyoming campus Wednesday to make her bid to become the next UW president.

Nichols is Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at South Dakota State University.  She was announced as one of three finalist candidates for the UW presidency last Friday.

During her visit, Nichols attended meetings with UW faculty, staff, and students.  She also participated in a public forum at the UW Conference Center before her interview with the Board of Trustees.

In her presentation, Nichols said that were she to become the next UW president, one of her top priorities would be addressing the issue of faculty and staff compensation.

Dr. Jeremy Haefner, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Henrietta, NY, will visit Laramie on Monday.
