In their first road game of the season, the Laramie Plainsmen will take on the Tigers in Rock Springs Friday night.

This is a match-up of two teams in search of their first win this season. Laramie lost at home last week to current number one Sheridan, while the Tigers lost on the road at fourth-ranked Cheyenne East.

Neither teams was overly productive on offense in their opener. Laramie managed only 186 yards last week, while Rock Springs had 234. Both had two turnovers in their loss.

Laramie (0-1) has won two straight in the series. That includes the first win for Chuck Syverson as the head football coach of the Plainsmen two years ago at this same venue.

Rock Springs (0-1) is led by junior running back Matt Fowler. He ran for 142 yards and a score on 20 carries last week. The Plainsmen look to junior quarterback Taylor Dodd, who accounted for 134 yards of offense a week ago and their only touchdown.

KOWB's David Settle had a chance to discuss Friday night's game against Rock Springs with Coach Syverson. He reflected on his first win two years later; provided an outlook on the match-up with the Tigers; and even stressed the importance of a game like this, even though it's still early in the season.

Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. from Tiger Stadium in Rock Springs.
