The Laramie Police Department is asking for help from the community in locating a dog which bit a woman on May 23.

A woman was bitten by a dog that was tied outside of the Crowbar and Grill at 203 South Second Street in Laramie on Friday, May 23 around 8 to 8:30 p.m. The dog is described as a black and brown, male German Shepherd mix.

The woman who is believed to be the dog’s owner is described as white with longer, dark hair and of average height and weight in her mid to late 20s. She was wearing a red shirt the day of the incident. Officials say there is enough information to believe that the owner was visiting someone in Laramie.

Officials want to remind everyone that even though a dog appears friendly, they often are more protective of their space when they are tied up. They also want people to know that animal bites can involve exposure to rabies, so all animal bites need to be reported to the Animal Control Unit immediately.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the dog involved in this incident is asked to call the Animal Control Unit at 307-721-5385 or the non-emergency dispatch line at 307-721-2526.
