Question:

For residents who don't have the carts or who have excess recycling, why doesn't the City have somewhere for residents to drop off their recycling other than the landfill, similar to how there are green dumpsters for natural waste?

Answer:

"The simple answer is that the City doesn't have drop off locations because we cannot recover our costs. Plus, there is far less control over the recyclables. With the drop off at the landfill, we can recover the cost and control what materials are dropped off. Drop off sites are notorious for dumping waste and contaminating the recyclables. We can provide recycling carts to almost anybody in town at the owner's request."

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
