People in the Laramie area are invited to a potluck dinner held by the newly formed Scandinavian American Club. The potluck will take place on Saturday, February 28 at Fire Station Number Three in West Laramie located at 2374 Jefferson.  The dinner will begin at 4 p.m. and will go no later than 7 p.m.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring their favorite Scandinavian dishes. Those who are not familiar with Scandinavian food are still encouraged to attend and bring a dish or drink of their choosing.  Alcohol is not allowed at the dinner. People are also asked to provide their own table service including plates, cups, and silverware.

The Scandinavian American Club is working to provide events to those interested in Scandinavian history, culture, food, and activities. The potluck will serve as a time to inform people about the club and to come up with event ideas.

Organizer Jean Rehmeier says all ages are welcome and every person will have an equal say in ideas and activities they plan. She says the club is not only for Scandinavian Americans, but also to those who are from Scandinavia, have Scandinavian family or friends, or who have interest in that region.

She says the club will likely have quarterly meetings, but they would like to plan fun events for all ages throughout the year. She says travel may be a possibility for the club in the future, including international travel as well as trips to Scandinavian events in the region.
