There were rumors, and now it's been confirmed.  Scotty McCreery's new album will include and old school single from Keith from back in the day when he was with The Ranch.

First there were rumors that the album would include an Urban song.  Now, not only has that rumor been proven out, we now know which tune it will be.

Turns ou that the new album "Clear as Day" will include the single "Walkin' in the Country".  Long-time fans of Keith will recognize the song from Keith's days with the short-lived trio "The Ranch"   While it wasn't a blockbuster hit for The Ranch, Urban supposedly really liked the song and thought Scotty would be perfect for it.

“He said, ‘I think this would be great for Scotty,’ so we took a listen to it,” McCreery says. There was a delicious rumor that Urban might be able to add his guitar to the recording, but that didn’t work out. “We didn’t [record ‘Walkin’ the Country’] during the first five [songs] we cut in Nashville. I think if we would have, maybe Keith might have been able to play guitar on the track, but now he’s on tour, kind of like we are. It’s tough for me to stop and catch my breath on tour, so I’m sure it would be really tough for him to do that.”

Followers of "CMT Crossroads" might remember when Keith Urban played the with John Fogerty way back in '05.  The Ranch was formed in 1997, but broke up after one album.

There sure has been a lot of buzz surrounding Scotty's new album.  All the conjecture and anticipation comes to an end on October 4, 2011 when the CD hits the streets.

I'm hoping the album is worth all the hype.  It's a great story Scotty has going for him, and a monster first album would really set him on the road to stardom in his field.
