The Albany County Sheriff’s Office says deputies recovered a large amount of stolen property estimated to be worth $20,000 during a search of a home south of Laramie on Monday.

Deputies began on Monday to investigate information received through an anonymous tip regarding burglaries that were reported on Oct. 11 and Nov. 17.  The Albany County Sheriff’s Office says that the investigation determined the name of the suspect as well as a possible address for that person in the area of Tie Siding.

A search warrant was issued for the residence, and deputies recovered about $20,000 worth of allegedly stolen property.  The Sheriff’s Office says that amount may increase as deputies interview the suspect and the investigation continues.

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies noticed additional items which they thought might have been stolen as they searched the residence.  After going over reports from the Laramie Police Department, the Sheriff's Office now believes that the items–including hand tools and a wide variety of construction equipment–were also stolen, but have not been reported as such.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office and Laramie Police Department are asking anyone with information about the investigation and anyone who believes that property was stolen from them to contact local law enforcement at 307-721-2526 or call Crime Stoppers at 307-742-2273.
