Should Laramie Try for State Basketball? – Survey of the Day

This doesn’t seem like a very controversial question. However, considering that it’s been over a decade since we hosted the Wyoming State Basketball tournament, maybe people’s opinions have changed.

After extensive research (which means talking to the sports guy in our office for 5 minutes) I’ve learned that the last time the bigger schools played their state tournament in Laramie was 1995. Since that time, Casper has stepped up and out-bid Laramie every time the Wyoming High School Activities Association has opened it up to bid. So, when the next bid comes up in the 2013-14 season, should we try again? We’ve got more hotel-motel space available, enough floors, and the coolest place to play basketball in the state…The Arena Auditorium.
