Has the city's Roads Department thought about using sand at the intersection instead of the ice melt that freezes and causes ice due to the lack of plowing?

"To keep overall operational expenses down, the city uses an ice melt agent during their snow plowing process. The application of sand and/or salt mixtures creates additional costs through the need to sweep any leftover debris from the streets, as well as the cost to clean storm sewers when salt and sand enters the sewer system. For more information, please refer to the city's Snow and Ice Policy".

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “Where can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
