Steve Matin and his Steep Canyon Rangers are on the road in support of their new CD called "Rare Bird Alert".
Martin (as many country fans know) is an award-winning banjo player.  The band plans on issuing in three formats, including a standard CD, an old-school vinyl album and an edition that will include trading cards highlighting Steve and his bandmates.
During the first week of the release, Martin will be hitting the airwaves on such shows as "Late Show with David Letterman"  on March 16th, "The View" on March 17th and "The Colbert Report" on the 21st.   Martin and SCR will be also perform on the Ellen DeGeneres Show May 3 and the Conan O'Brien Show later that night.

The new CD/album has 13 tracks written by Martin himself...with the Great Sir Paul McCartney amd the ladies of  The Dixie Chicks doing guest vocals.

Martin has four Grammies to his credit including his latest for  "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo," which won Best Bluegrass Album in 2009.

I'm looking forward to the release.  I have many friends who are bluegrass and banjo fans.   I'm sure they will love it.
