Wyoming has the lowest percentage of technology-based industries in the nation. According to a new study, just over two percent of jobs in the Cowboy State are classified as high-tech.

Overall, Wyoming ranked 40th on Wallet Hub's list of The Best and Worst State Economies; 30th for "economic activity", 43rd for "economic health" and 41st for "innovation potential". Despite the lack of tech-based jobs, Wyoming's median household income is the fourth-best in the nation, behind Minnesota, Virginia, and Utah.

Washington finished first in the study, followed by Utah, Massachusetts, California, and Colorado. Louisiana's economy was ranked last with Mississippi, Alaska, West Virginia, and Arkansas rounding out the bottom five.
