This list of the Top 40 country songs for May 2012 is remarkable for how close it was near the top. Lee Brice, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and at least three other artists could make a reasonable claim that they have the top song this month. In the end, the edge goes to the song that sounds most suited for summer, which is fast approaching.
