It’s truly a mixed blessing for Indianapolis.  On the one hand, the city is on the verge of hosting the biggest show of the year, The Super Bowl.  The community is excited, there are hundreds of events planned, and it’s a great opportunity for a “cold” city to host such a hot event.  But, in the midst of all the excitement, is the still-fresh memory of the State Fair.

Sugarland vocalist and newlywed Jennifer Nettles wrapped up a busy end of 2011, which included getting married as well as performing at Christmas specials and the Nobel Peace Prize concert, by appearing at the Kennedy Center Honors on Dec. 27. The performance saluted the one and only Neil Diamond. Nettles performed a flawless rendition of Diamond’s classic, torchy ballad ‘Hello Again.’

The state of Indiana has settled with 63 of the 65 victims from August’s stage collapse before a Sugarland show at the Indiana State Fair. KRTV in Indianapolis reports that of the $5 million available for compensation, all but $2,000 has been claimed.
