Taylor Swift – New Video Disappoints

Okay.  I am NOT a hater.  Period.  And maybe I was expecting something else, but I've got to tell you, Taylor Swift's new video absolutely misses the mark.

Now, don't go all nuclear on me, Taylor Swift fans.  If you've ever read anything by me concerning the incredibly talented Miss Swift, you know I'm a big, big fan.  That being said, I have to admit that I wanted to stop in the middle of the video for this song and never play it again.

Too harsh?  Maybe.  But the video is just not something I wanted to hear.  It's dark, and dreary and just rife with soul-destroying angst.

Of course, the song itself is that way so, I guess you get what you expect.  I was just really dragged down by it.  Safe and Sound is the song, and Taylor herself refers to it as a "death lullabye".  Okey dokey.  But this isn't If I Die Young, here folks.  This is a dark and dreary optimism killer and I just have to say that I will look forward to the next one from her, because, seriously, this one just left me cold.
