Effective Nov. 1, the University of Wyoming’s new registrar is Lane Buchanan.

Buchanan, a Baggs native, has served as the associate registrar at UW for the past 13 years.  He has been with the Office of the Registrar since 1997.

Buchanan obtained all his degrees from UW, including a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and secondary education/mathematics as well as a Master of Public Administration.

Buchanan says that the Office of the Registrar will continue to adhere to the high standards that customers expect.

“I appreciate this opportunity to continue to serve my alma mater and her students, faculty and staff,” Buchanan says.

Faculty, staff, students, and alumni receive customer service from the registrar’s office in the form of effective academic support services.  Functions of the office includes course registration, awarding degrees, issuance of academic records, providing transcripts, verification of enrollment, and graduation.

Sarah Axelson, UW Vice President for Student Affairs, says that through his dedication and skillful interaction, Buchanan has crafted a positive report across campus.

“With his educational background and experience, he will serve the university community well in this role,” says Axelson.
