Come Sunday, February 5th, if the NFL and players can get their act together, NBC entertainment plans to launch the season with a special broadcast.

NBC will air The Voice after the Super Bowl in February.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob Greenblatt, the Chairman of NBC enterainment was quoted as saying:

“There is no better showcase on television than to follow the Super Bowl, and we believe The Voice is deserving of such high-profile exposure,” said Greenblatt in a statement. “The attention grabbing blind audition phase of ‘The Voice’ has mass appeal and will fittingly team up with the biggest sporting event of the year.”

It hasn't been determined whether the episode will be the season premiere.

The Voice has enjoyed a great deal of success and appeal in the vital 18-49 demographic and it seems NBC would like to lead in with a big winner.  However, the decision to make THIS show the season premier reportedly has not been made, just yet.

So far this season, The Voice has an average 12 million viewers.

Let's hope that the NFL season does in fact lead to Super Bowl XLVI and that millions more will get to be fans of a terrific show.
