Thieves Target Homes Under Construction in Thomas Heights

The Laramie County Sheriff's Department is investigating a string of burglaries that have occurred in the Thomas Heights subdivision within the last week and a half.

"Currently, we have three burglaries that we're looking into," said Lt. Don Hollingshead. "Items were taken from homes under construction (and) include everything from windows that are being ready for installation to copper wiring and piping."

Hollingshead believes the burglaries are connected and not isolated incidents.

"My belief is it's somebody related to the subcontractors working on all of the houses in the area," said Hollingshead.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
