Trey Sherwood, executive director of the Laramie Main Street Alliance, says a facelift on 3rd Street would go a long way toward revitalizing downtown Laramie.

"It's not just about the economics," says Sherwood. "It's also about the aesthetics of -- what does it feel on that corridor? Isn't it safe?"

"And right now we feel like there's a lot of improvement to be made there," says Sherwood.

Sherwood says it is important for the City of Laramie, the Wyoming Department of Transportation, and the University of Wyoming to establish a common vision for the corridor.

"It's a slow process to get everybody at the table when everybody has different goals or objectives for that corridor," says Sherwood.

Sherwood hopes the corridor can be improved when WYDOT repaves 3rd Street in 2020.
