Three more Laramie High School student-athletes will be continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Seniors Angie Jones, Allison McElwee and Idris Elias all signed their national letter of intent in a ceremony Wednesday morning at Laramie High School.

McElwee is getting an opportunity to play hockey with the Division III Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in Mequon, WI, which is on the north side of Milwaukee. McElwee was chosen last summer to play for an elite team from Colorado, where she spent most of her senior year. Her select team won a championship earlier this year.

Jones becomes the sixth player from the Laramie Lady Plainsmen to continue her soccer career at the next level. She signed with the Gillette College Pronghorns and will play for head coach Nate Ulness. This fall will be Gillette College’s first season of competition. Jones has two goals and one assist for Laramie during the 2017 season just ahead of the post-season.

The final signee Wednesday was wrestler Idris Elias, who will continue his mat career at the University of Wyoming. Elias was the 2016 class 4A state champion at 126 pounds and runner-up in 2017. He joins classmate Carless Looney, who signed with UW last November, in a Cowboy singlet.

These three signings are in addition to 11 student-athletes that signed earlier during the 2016-17 academic year. Last November seniors McCade Johnson and Carless Looney signed with UW for track and wrestling, respectively. In February, nine others signed to compete in college. Eight of those were part of a ceremony Feb. 1. They were Madison Barrick for soccer (UW), Morgan Bury for soccer (Sheridan College), Reid Baty for baseball (Trinidad State Junior College in Colo.), Connor Beeston for football (Minot State in N.D.), Caitlyn Cox for soccer (Trinidad State Junior College), Taylor Dodd for football (UW), Blake Moore for football (Colorado Mesa) and Sierra Titensor for soccer (Sheridan College).

The other February signee was Bridgette Johnson, who will be playing soccer at Colorado Christian University. She got the call on Feb. 10.
