Residents of Laramie got a blast from the past Friday when the content of a time capsule was unveiled. The time capsule was dedicated to First Interstate Bank fifty years ago on June 6, 1964 to be opened exactly 50 years later.

It was opened early Friday at the Good Morning Laramie event. For those who could not attend the opening, items were put on display at First Interstate Bank until 4 p.m.

The time capsule had a variety of items in it. Some of the contents include maps, ballot tickets, comic books, and a phone directory. Several photographs were also included in the capsule.  Photos included subjects like wildlife, officials, people from the town, rodeos, parades and buildings (some still in Laramie).

The decision of what to do with the items after being displayed has not been made.

A complete list of items from the time capsule can be provided by the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance at 745-7339.
