When I hear the word “jazz” I’m reminded of the persona of someone who’s calm, cool and collected, yet sporadic and exuberant! If you’re a fan of jazz then you’ll get just that this Sunday. You won’t want to miss Jane Monheit’s performance this Sunday, October 16th at the University of Wyoming’s Fine Arts Concert Hall! Monheit’s presentation of vocal jazz has propelled her to the top of the jazz billboard charts.

The concert will begin at 7:30 Sunday October 16th. Tickets for students cost $15 and $20 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at the University of Wyoming Union or the Fine Arts box office or by clicking here!

For those of you who are not familiar with the jazz scene Monheit debut album “Never, Never Land” was on the Billboard jazz charts for more than a year and was voted best debut recording by the Jazz Journalists Association. Since that time she has now released her 10th cd simply titled “Home.”

Here is a video of her performing live. Hopefully when you listen to it you will get goose bumps like it did me!

Her she is doing her rendition of the iconic song “Over The Rainbow.”
