Former Wyoming Cowboys Josh Adams and Alan Herndon will also be taking part in the NBA Summer League July 6-17 in Las Vegas.

This news comes on the heels of Hayden Dalton receiving a chance to play for his hometown Denver Nuggets earlier this week.

Adams will be playing for the Dallas Mavericks for a second straight year. He will be under the tutelage of former Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt in Las Vegas. Adams just finished his second professional season. He was in Turkey as part of the EuroLeague and played for Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Adams averaged 7 points, 2 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game. He also knocked down 2.4 threes per contest. Prior to that, Adams had been in Russia’s VTB United League.

Herndon is getting a chance to play with the Washington Wizards. He worked out for the Wizards and Phoenix Suns prior to last week’s NBA Draft. The recent UW graduate completed his senior season with averages of 11.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-MW by the league’s media. Herndon is Wyoming’s all-time leader in games played with 133 and finished third in school history with 184 blocked shots.

The three former Cowboys are not slated to play against each other during the set game schedule but might get that opportunity during the tournament play. Set games are July 6-10, while the tournament runs July 11-17.

The NBA Summer League takes place at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus. Games will be televised on NBA TV and the networks of ESPN. Check NBA.com for a complete schedule.
