With the weather forecast calling for continuing heavy snow through this evening, the University of Wyoming has joined Albany County School District 1 in an early release today.

No UW classes or regular business operations will take place after noon, allowing students, faculty and staff members to return to their homes.

“Please be careful in your travels,” UW President Dick McGinity says.

University and ACTA shuttle buses will run on emergency snow route service effective immediately. The Union Express and South Express will run until 1 p.m. to ensure passengers have the opportunity to return to their vehicles at the remote lots. The Campus Commuter will run on a reduced 30-minute schedule until 3 p.m. with a stop included at the South Express Lot. The Gem City Grand will operate at normal capacity until 3 p.m. Dispatchers will be in contact with all Paratransit passengers to make arrangements for return trips home.

Please keep in mind that all bus routes will be running behind schedule, so please expect delays. Service for Night Owl and SafeRide this evening will be evaluated throughout the day, with a decision made later this afternoon.
