A Cheyenne man is facing up to 25 years in prison after being charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment in the death of his girlfriend's 13-month-old son.

Logan Rogers made his initial appearance via video conference in Laramie County Circuit Court this (Monday) afternoon.

The 23-year-old is accused of exposing the baby to meth and killing him sometime between October 20-21.

According to court documents, Rogers told detectives he dropped his girlfriend, Rhiannon Ojeda, off at work around 5 p.m. on October 20 and then took the baby with him to his friend Shawn's house.

Rogers said multiple people in the house were smoking methamphetamine and he became concerned after the baby appeared to be high. He said the child was extremely warm to the touch so he gave him a bath at Shawn's house.

Rogers then left the house and drove around for 2 hours delivering meth, which he had purchased from Shawn, to his customers.

Rogers also told detectives that the baby suffered a concussion on October 20 after he fell off the counter at home and hit his head.

Rogers said the baby died the next day and that he wrapped him in a white comforter and put him in a dumpster near Laramie County Community College.

The Laramie County Sheriff's Department, who believes the boy's body was hauled to a landfill in Ault, Colorado, had planned to start searching the landfill this (Monday) morning, but Captain Linda Gesell says high winds and other reasons forced them to delay their search.

Rogers preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 9 in Laramie County Circuit Court.

He is being held in the Laramie County Detention Center on $500,000 cash bond.
