A Minnesota man is behind bars following a bomb threat at a Cheyenne bank this (Monday) morning.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Sgt. David Janes says the bomb squad was called to the Wells Fargo Bank at 3600 E. Pershing Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m.

"They responded to help with an individual who was in the bank claiming that he had a bomb in a backpack," said Janes. "The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit cleared the backpack (and) determined there was no bomb."

Laramie County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Captain Linda Gesell says the man, later identified as 40-year-old Andrew Wojciechowski, said he had a wire or spider in his head.

After discharging two fire extinguishers at deputies, Wojciechowski was tased and taken into custody.

Wojciechowski has initially been charged with interference with a peace officer and burglary. He has yet to make his initial court appearance.
