University of Wyoming Professor Edward Barbier is used to being published by some of the most notorious scientific journals in the world.

He was surprised however, by a recent survey ranking three of his articles in the top five publications in marine ecosystem services. The rankings were submitted by a group of professionals in natural and social sciences to the Marine Ecosystem Services Partnership.

According to UWYO.EDU, the top ranked story from Barbier was a 2011 study of Ecological Monographs. The forth ranked study was Barbier’s “Costal ecosystem-based management with nonlinear ecological functions and values.” The fifth ranked article was titled “Valuing Mangrove-fishery Linkages.”
