A vehicle fire on the Laramie Range summit between Laramie and Cheyenne closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 for about an hour on Friday afternoon. A pickup truck with a long camper trailer was lost in the fire according to Wyoming Department of Transportation spokesperson Ross Doman.

No injuries have been reported to authorities, who were able to open I-80 up fairly quickly once the fire was contained. In addition to WYDOT, Doman reports that the Albany County Sheriff’s Department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Laramie Fire Department responded to the event. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
