Law enforcement officials with the U.S. Forest Service are seeking information regarding a vehicle of interest seen in the area where the Beaver Creek Fire started, about two miles of Big Creek Lakes on the Routt National Forest northwest of Walden, Colo., Sunday afternoon.

Aaron Voos of the U.S. Forest Service says a black dodge pickup with an orange hood and orange accents was seen leaving the area Sunday afternoon. No specifics were available regarding the model of the pickup or registration information.

Voos says given the proximity of the fire to the Wyoming/Colorado border, the pickup could have been from either state.

Voos asks anyone with information regarding the vehicle or its owner(s) to contact U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement Officer Hannah Nadeau at 307-343-2335.

A group of 20 personnel and a type one helicopter are currently assigned to the fire. Dozers have been ordered for a mechanized line.

The fire continues to burn in heavy timber, both live and dead. Voluntary pre-evacuation is in place for private and recreation residences in the area.
