This is going to sound a little like "Inside Baseball" so, bear with me as I share a little inside radio stuff with you.  Billboard Magazine has several different charts to track the popularity of songs and CD's.

As you would expect, they have charts for the various musical genre's (pop, hip-hop-, club, country etc.)  One of the most closely watched charts by us radio wonks is the "200 Chart".  That chart compiles sales figures for ALL genres album sales.

Lady Antebellum's "We Owned the Night" CD is number one.  Tops.  Numero Uno in all fields.  Sales figures for the band show that the first week debut sales for their latest reached 347,000.  That's pretty darn impressive, and it's the most by a country act so far in 2011.

It's good news for Lady A.  And it comes just as things are about to get real busy.  The trio of Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley are heading to The Big Apple for an appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 1st.  They'll head across the pond for a few appearances.  Then they'll be back in the USA for the "Own the NIght" tour that kicks off on Veteran's Day in Knoxville TN>

The band's latest single, the title cut from the album, continues to rise on the Billboard Country Charts.
